Our verdict
The5ers is one of the older prop firms, running since 2016, and is known for steady payouts and conservative, clearly written rules. Gold traders benefit from permitted weekend holding, but reported metals leverage is low.
The5ers has operated since 2016, which makes it one of the longest-established firms in the sector. Its flagship for active traders is High Stakes, a two-step evaluation now sold in two versions: Classic (8% then 5% targets) and New (10% then 5%, slightly cheaper). Both allow a 5% daily loss and a 10% overall loss, and require at least three profitable days of 0.5% or more in each phase, with no deadline as long as the account is used at least once every 30 days. Funded traders start at an 80% split and can request payouts every two weeks, with scaling that can raise the split towards 100%. For gold traders, positions may be held overnight and over weekends, which is useful for swing setups on XAUUSD. On High Stakes, new orders cannot be placed from two minutes before to two minutes after high-impact news, though existing trades may stay open. Reported leverage on metals is 1:25, lower than some competitors, so position sizing on gold needs care. Expert advisors are allowed, provided every position has a stop loss. The firm has a large Trustpilot presence with a 4.7 rating and answers most negative reviews. In mid-2026 it restricted cTrader to non-US clients.
