Previous day high and low (PDH/PDL)
Also called PDH, PDL. What it means, how it looks on a gold (XAUUSD) chart, and the mistake most traders make with it.
Previous day high and low: The previous day's high and low are among the most-watched levels on any chart. Stops collect beyond them, and price often runs one of them before reversing or continuing.
Previous day high and low on a gold chart
If yesterday's gold range was $4,096–$4,141, today's first targets are those two prices. A run above $4,141 that fails is a classic short setup; acceptance above it targets the weekly high.
How traders use it
They are marked every morning as liquidity targets. Our daily gold key levels include them every weekday.
Common mistake
Treating them as support and resistance to fade on first touch. They are liquidity first.
