Daily bias

Also called higher timeframe bias. What it means, how it looks on a gold (XAUUSD) chart, and the mistake most traders make with it.

Daily bias: Daily bias is your expectation of whether today's candle will close up or down, based on the higher-timeframe structure and the next liquidity target.

Daily bias on a gold chart

If gold's daily chart broke above $4,130 yesterday, leaving buy-side liquidity at $4,165 untouched and a fair value gap below at $4,105–$4,115, the bias is bullish: buy dips into the gap, target $4,165.

How traders use it

Bias decides which setups you take. Lower-timeframe entries are only taken in its direction.

Common mistake

Changing bias every hour. Bias comes from the daily and 4-hour charts and shouldn't flip because of one 5-minute candle.
