Inducement
Also called IDM. What it means, how it looks on a gold (XAUUSD) chart, and the mistake most traders make with it.
Inducement: Inducement is a small, obvious level that tempts traders to enter early, such as a minor pullback low before a real order block. Its sweep provides the liquidity for the real move.
Inducement on a gold chart
Gold pulls back toward a 1-hour order block at $4,090–$4,098, but first forms a small low at $4,106 that looks like support. Early buyers enter there. Price drops through $4,106, takes their stops, tags the order block, then rallies.
How traders use it
SMC traders wait for the inducement to be swept before trusting the zone behind it.
Common mistake
Entering at the first reaction. If there is an obvious level in front of your zone, expect it to be taken first.
